Sound Scene proposes a new way of experiencing familiar sounds. Immersion through listening opens up the possibility of seeing oneself more objectively and understanding one’s inner world as something layered and dimensional. Blending ritual and theatre, the multi-channel video moves beyond reading and comprehension to create a process of remembering through the senses. Within the performance, the audience becomes an active listener, interpreting the structure of sound.
Sound Scene is also a myth of this sensory rediscovery. The book and the performance function as guides into its world, each chapter gradually leading the audience toward the universe of Sound Scene at the boundary between reality and fiction. Language and sound ask the listener to stay immersed with them—at times boldly, at times quietly and delicately.
